Day 2

There are essentially no motifs in my story that resemble something of importance. The only thing that reoccurs is the school building. The archetypical characters are the teacher, the student, and the great philosopher of asia, Buddha. These people are the main focus because they are the only people in the story.

Without any one of those characters, there is no way to duplicate this story in to my own work, or folk tale. I want to retain everything about the story, but I'm going to have to get rid of Buddha, and put in Jesus or a religious prophet that the Spanish are most familiar with. I want to retain also the elemet of lying, and decpetion because thats what the whole story is about.

  1. There are always motifs in folktales, otherwise they would not be folktales. They are the recurring symbols and mean something and carry the story forward by reappearing. Add an addendum to this post with a list of motifs you have found.
